Our Philosophy

Guidance for the big picture and finer details

We Don't Just Stay The Course – We Reshape It Year After Year.
The markets don't stay any course. They don't bow to convention or perform according to plan. They continually rise, fall and rebound, often in ways few expect. So, achieving consistent investment returns is about much more than simply building a plan and sticking to it. To be successful, a portfolio strategy must be structured and disciplined, of course, but it must also be dynamic – ready to adapt to an unpredictable market quickly and, more important, intelligently.

We view investment performance from an absolute return perspective. Instead of trying to outpace the markets or even a particular asset class (relative return), we work with each client to set clear, rational goals, and then we pursue those goals doggedly – regardless of the performance of the larger economy.

This approach requires us to monitor market shifts carefully, but to only shift along with them when it's right for our clients. We put significant effort and energy into ensuring that any action we take is taken wisely.

It's that wisdom that people are looking for when they come to us. Our clients are bright, successful people from many different backgrounds and all walks of life who have something rather simple in common: They want to take care of their money. They expect a partner who can serve as both passionate advocate and voice of reason. And that's the kind of partner we aim to be.

* Investing involves risk, including the potential loss of principal. No investment strategy can guarantee a profit or protect against loss in periods of declining values.
